Why we should use Telegram ?

Hello
I ve noticed here and on other forums that those associated with carding and bank fraud mostly use telegram. You need a phone no to sign up on telegram and it's not a peer to pretty network. Seriously how easy it is for a law enforcement to track and catch us on telegram.
Why they don't use messengers like wickr which is peer to peer , don't take your phone no for registration and self destruct messages??

Telegram has encrypted channels, they have automated deletion options as well as an option to delete the messages for both you and the person you're communicating with.

But you need a phone number to register on telegram , don't you think that pose a security threat?

I ve googled some Virtual numbers online but can't find ones which can receive automated messages for verification.
Which virtual number you use? Is it a paid service?

Lol there so many that actually work paid or free , telegram is not as brutal as Whatsapp with virtual numbers , try the common ones like "TextNow"
