Hey guys,
I'm from Europe and all modern cards in my country use EMV-chips. But at least in the past it happened that when the chip did not work for some reason, the ATM used the magnetic stripe instead to conduct the transaction. While I read papers from Mastercard and Visa saying that those fallback scenarios should be blocked in most cases I also read a thread on this forum stating that it still works more often than not (can't find it anymore unfortunately).
So I wonder if it's still possible nowadays to cash out via ATM by triggering a fallback to magnetic stripe transaction?
